Financial Investment
We are very transparent with pricing:
- Consultations = $500; a fruitful investment for you. We make sure you have enough direction and guidance to pull it together with or without us!
- Base Fee: Standard Room Design without renovations = $6,800
- Base Fee: Standard Room Design with renovations = $9,800+
- Hourly Rate = $200; This covers our administrative time doing things like processing orders, coordinating shipping and receiving, tracking deliveries, etc., travel time, virtual and in-person meetings with clients and/or contractors, etc. Depending on how you choose to utilize our services, this budget can vary; let's talk about it!
We totally understand that budget is a big question, and it’s one that’s unique to each client. For the level of detailed design services we offer, we typically find that a starting budget of around $20,000 allows us to really bring your vision to life. Of course, we can absolutely discuss smaller “fresh-ups” or mini space-lifts if that suits your needs better.
We just like to be transparent that in addition to the core project fee and hourly rates, things like artwork, lighting, and those perfect home accessories are all part of the overall investment. And just a quick note: if you prefer to pay by credit card, there’s a small 3% processing fee.
In the end, having a clear sense of your comfortable budget helps us figure out the best way to make your space truly special and timeless.
Any items not included in the scope of the project during the consultation will be sourced and purchased through us. There are many benefits to this, and the biggest one is that we adhere to your budget and offer you three options to choose from in each category. Another exceptional benefit is gaining access to our international partnerships that we have carefully vetted within the industry, many of which are unavailable to the general public.
In most cases, there is a fee for shipping, crate, freight and drop ship. We will coordinate a shipping and receiving company to manage the delivery process for you.
Payments for consultations and base project fees (which is what we charge you to design your space) are made in advance. In some cases, we can offer a payment plan if the scope and budget allow, but typically our design fees are paid upfront. Special order items that are ordered for the design project are nonrefundable and must be paid in advance. Shipping is billed separately as there are usually delays in billing for shipping. Accrual of hours are typically billed monthly, and payments are due upon receipt of invoice.
What a great question! We specialize in making your space beautiful. While we consider ourselves to be transitional specialists, we can make anything beautiful by telling a cohesive story that is intentional and exemplary of our client's style... aka “the vibe.” We excel in building asymmetrical gallery walls, pairing new and vintage pieces to create a lived-in look and feel and mixing colors that make sense. We create moments that are curated and unexpected leaning into the power of lighting and shadows, rugs and window treatments to help to anchor the vibe.
On rare occasions, we can expedite our design package for a project, but it typically takes six weeks to build the vibe for a room. From start to finish, six to nine months is a reasonable timeline for most projects. We have no control over contractor or delivery delays.
Once the products are approved and purchased, we place the order with our vendor by scheduling delivery to a local receiving company, a delivery fee we factor into the invoice upfront. Once all items are received locally, an inspection report is provided and white glove delivery is scheduled, meaning all products are unboxed by the receiving company, delivered, assembled and moved to the final location within your space. The receiving company works with us directly to coordinate logistics and will bill you directly when all items have been delivered.
Yes we do! We can offer as many referrals as you’d like. We have samples of EWD spacelifts on our website and can provide additional samples of our work upon request.
Our process is extremely collaborative, and there will be no surprises for our clients. We pride ourselves on our ability to coproduce beautiful and unique designs every time. We stand behind the value of our work and believe that client trust is the cornerstone of our work together. If you do not trust your designer 100%, then you should keep searching until you find the right fit.
Although we are not affiliated or partnered with any local contractors and are unable to offer any guarantees or warranties for contracting work, we may be able to provide you with names of businesses who are active in the community. We do not serve as site managers or general contractors for subcontractors during the renovation process, but we do work with the contractors of your choice and provide general direction and guidance regarding the scope of the project. We prefer to work directly with our clients throughout the design process and suggest both weekly virtual meetings as well as in-person visits with the client and contractor to ensure that all parties remain on the same page.
